The Town has become aware that door-to-door solicitors are claiming to be able to provide discounted paving services to residents.  The solicitors claim they are affiliated with the town’s Highway Department or are subcontracting with local businesses. Both statements are untrue.  Further, the residents are not told the fee upfront, and the fee is significantly high. 
 
Protect yourself from scammers:  do not accept door-to-door solicitations, only work with known companies that provide you with trusted references and have a written contract that clearly states the fee for service.
