Get Involved on Town Committees or Boards

The opportunities listed are available to residents regardless of background or political perspectives. Openings will be updated as they become available. While expertise or experience are helpful qualifications, personal passion and a commitment to be an active contributor to the Town of Wilton are also important.


ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE

  • Purpose: to advise and guide the Town Board as it seeks to implement low-stress bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. Focus is to interconnect neighborhoods, allow informal recreation and provide access to a variety of locations. Projects may include Bike Routes (on-road/ shared lanes), Bike Lanes (road adjacent) and Multi-use paths (MUP) (hard-surface off-road). Past experience in development, funding or implementation will be valued for consideration.

LAND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE

  • Purpose: to advise the Town Board in efforts to enhance and implement strategies for land conservation and the preservation of open space in the Town of Wilton. A passion for conservation and knowledge of planning, zoning or town code are valued attributes.

ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

Help Shape the Future of Our Community – Become a Zoning Board Member!

Are you passionate about how our neighborhoods grow and evolve? We’re seeking a Zoning Board Member who’s ready to make thoughtful, balanced decisions that impact our town’s future.


Your Role:
• Evaluate zoning variance and appeal requests
• Apply local zoning codes with fairness and integrity
• Hear from residents and consider all perspectives
• Work alongside a dedicated team to guide responsible development
